Marian Lupu: I felt from the very beginning they didn’t want to sign any agreement

Democratic Party leader Marian Lupu is disappointed that his AIE colleagues aren’t open enough to signing an agreement on the creation of local alliances. “I felt from the very beginning they didn’t want to sign any agreement. It should be preceded by certain moves, talks based on figures, regions, districts. I don’t see and I don’t feel any interest from their side. Moreover, statements have been made that there will be no talks at central level and that the local elected officials are free to do whatever they want”, Marian Lupu told journalists, Info-Prim Neo reports. He added that the project proposed by PDM was designed as a starting point and wasn’t a rigid position. “When somebody invites for negotiations and others don’t want to talk, things stall. From now on, we can see various developments”, said Marian Lupu. The Democrat leader explained that the main danger was that some local teams could form alliances with other parties than the AIE ones. “In order to avoid such consequences, we proposed to negotiate, to reach a consensus and govern in cooperation with local partners”, declared Lupu. He says that the AIE main Agreement itself is on a knife-edge. “It’s not visible yet. I like a saying: чуть-чуть беременным быть нельзя (you can’t be a little pregnant) – it’s either yes or no”, stressed the PDM leader.
