Marian Lupu goes to Brussels from Bucharest
A delegation of the Parliament of Moldova headed by Speaker Marian Lupu will be taking part in the inception meeting of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly that will be held in Brussels on May 2 and 3, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Parliament’s press service, the delegation includes MPs Igor Corman, Dumitru Diacov, Veaceslav Ionita, Tudor Deliu, and Boris Vieru.
The Heads of Parliament of the six member states of the Eastern Partnership - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine – will deliver speeches in the meetings. Afterward, they will sign the document on the constitution of the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly. There will be also created the Assembly’s executive bodies.
The European Parliament’s Delegation to the Euronest Parliamentary Assembly, which was created in September 2009, represents the parliamentary dimension of the Eastern Partnership, launched by the European Union to support its Eastern neighbors, including by providing financial assistance in implementing political, economic and social reforms.
The Euronest Parliamentary Assembly will have 120 members - 60 representing the European Parliament and by 10 on behalf of each of the six member states of the Eastern Partnership.
On April 28 and 29, Marian Lupu has been on an official visit to Bucharest.
