The European partners do not have doubts about the legality of the government of Moldova, the chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu said in the talk show “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.

“We had meetings with a number of EU officials, including of the highest ranks, and understood that there are no questions about the legitimacy of the Moldovan government,” stated Marian Lupu.

He made it clear that there were doubts among the European officials initially. “There were doubts initially, owing to misinformation. But, together with Mihai Ghimpu, we proved the truth to them with the Constitution in our hands,” said the Democrats’ leader.

Marian Lupu also said that of all the political parties of the Republic of Moldova, the European officials have confidence only in the Democrat Party and the Liberal Party. “Our European colleagues told us that the PDM and PL are the only parties of European origin,” he stated.

He also said that the European officials adopted a statement by which they condemn the anti-state and violent events in Chisinau.

Marian Lupu noted that he informed the European partners about the real goal of the protests. “They do not want to discuss and negotiate with us. They just want to take over. If the PSRM, PPPN and the Platform “Dignity and Truth” manage to do this, the Association Agreement with the EU will be terminated, while the Republic of Moldova will be federalized and will be ultimately joined to the Customs Union. It is evident that these use the people to promote Russia’s interests,” he said.
