The chairman of the Democrat Party Marian Lupu discussed possibilities of developing the IT parks in Moldova by attracting foreign investments to them with representatives of the Seed Forum International Foundation of Norway. He encouraged the investments in the given sector, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Democratic Party, in the discussions with the president of Seed Forum International Foundation Steinar Hoel Korsmo, Marian Lupu said the Moldovan authorities are ready to cooperate in the attraction of investments to the IT sector, underlining the country’s major interest in developing the economy based on new technology. “The creation of IT parks forms part of the policies to industrialize Moldova. It is a sector with a high value added. I invite you to invest in the IT industry of Moldova and to create well-paid jobs for young people. There are new possibilities that we are determined to take,” stated Marian Lupu.

ICT Minister Pavel Filip said the ministry he heads drafted a bill on the creation of IT parks, providing that the authorities will support this process, including fiscally. “We are interested in the prospects of cooperating with the Seed Forum given the opportunities that will appear when this law is passed,” he stated.

Steinar Hoel Korsmo said the Seed Forum International Foundation aims to identify new opportunities for making investments in more companies known at world level. “The goal of this visit is to discuss with the Moldovan authorities and representatives of the business sector and to assess the possibilities offered by this new market,” he stated.

Steinar Hoel Korsmo also said that he sees potential for famous companies to make investments in Moldova, noting that he speaks not only about the import of IT investments, but also about the foundation of local companies.
