Head of Parliament Marian Lupu was removed from office by 76 votes in favor. A number of 79 ballots were issued to the MPs. All of them were validated. The voting was secret. The Democratic lawmakers and the Liberals who support Mihai Ghimpu did not take part in the vote, IPN reports.
The voting was held at the suggestion of the Communist faction. The bill was included in the agenda of the April 25 sitting with the support of the Liberal-Democratic MPs and the unaffiliated MPs of the group of Dodon and the group of Misin. Unaffiliated lawmakers Sergiu Sarbu and Mihai Godea abstained.
