Moldova's acting President Marian Lupu has wrote a message to congratulate United States President Barack Obama on his 50th birthday, wishing him, on behalf of the Moldovan nation and personally, a healthy and prosperous life. Marian Lupu thanked Barack Obama for his personal contribution to the consolidation of the partnership between the United States and Moldova, a partnership based on “mutual respect and commitment to democratic values and principles”. “The assistance offered by the United States government to the Republic of Moldova is particularly important for the successful implementation of democratic, economic and social reforms, at a time when we march on a path toward European integration and consolidation of the country's territorial integrity. We stand firm to do our utmost to further develop the strategic dialogue with the United states and fulfill the assumed commitments”, reads the congratulatory message to Barack Obama.
