The candidate for the post of Prime Minister can become known on Monday or Tuesday, the chairman of the Democratic Party (PDM) Marian Lupu said in the talk show “Reply” on Prime TV channel, IPN reports.
“We started from zero and have so far agreed a formula for distributing the portfolios, which provides for common responsibility. On Monday or Tuesday, we will use this formula and will find out the candidate for premiership. We haven’t yet applied this formula,” he said.
Marian Lupu also said that the profile of the future Premier was set and the candidate for this post will be examined thoroughly. “We will discuss each candidate. The story with Gaburici taught us a lesson. We voted him in easily, but it turned out that we didn’t know everything about him. The future Prime Minister must have economic specialization and know social management. This person should be able to ensure a balance inside the political class,” he stated.
The Democratic leader said they agreed not to share out the executive posts in the law enforcement bodies and the posts of deputy ministers. A mission of foreign experts will monitor the administration of justice in Moldova.
Speaking about the faith of Banca de Economii, the chairman of the PDM said it is not within the competence of the political class to deal with this issue. “There are two variants in this case – either to nationalize the bank or to liquidate it. The advantage of nationalization is that more workplaces will be kept and there will be motivation to elucidate the theft. On the other hand, it’s not known what other contracts this bank had signed as there could appear creditors of this bank and the state will be put in the situation to pay huge sums of money. I think a decision should be taken by the National Bank of Moldova after minutely analyzing the economic situation,” stated Marian Lupu.
