Marian Lupu and Lorena Bogza voted best speakers of 2009

Democrat leader Marian Lupu and TV host Lorena Bogza were voted the best speakers of 2009 in a poll conducted by the PROPLUS Training Center, Info-Prim Neo reports. The awarding ceremony was attended by radio and TV presenter Nata Albot, the winner of the third place in the Top 10 Female Speakers category, and Lilian Carp, the head of Chisinau mayor's administration, which represented Dorin Chirtoaca, the second best in the Top 10 Male Speakers category. The top 3 male speakers are Marian Lupu, with 34.7%; Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca of Chisinau, 23.1%; and Prime Minister Vlad Filat, 14.3%. The top 3 female speakers are Lorena Bogza, with 34%; TV presenter Angela Gonta, 21%, and Nata Albot, 14.3%. The winners were selected in an on-line poll conducted by PROPLUS during five weeks, the total number of votes being 2,388. Other nominations included National Liberal leader Vitalia Pavlicenco, former prime minister Zinaida Greceanyi, journalist Natalia Morari, Christian Democrat leader Iurie Rosca, entertainer Gheorghe Urschi, presenter Andrei Porubin, Communist leader Vladimir Voronin, Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu, and others. Nominations were suggested by the visitors to the site www.proplus.md. Selection criteria included oratorical performance, charisma, popularity. The PROPLUS Training Center used this occasion to award the first 11 certificates of “Permanent Member of the Orators' Club” to the first generation of certified speakers in Moldova. PROPLUS is a nongovernmental organization which started as an initiative group in 2007, specializing in training for personal development. Last weekend the Orators' Club celebrated its first anniversary.
