Marian Lupu and Hannes Swoboda: Moldova will be in EU
Moldova’s European integration will be promoted by the joint effort of the Democratic Party of Moldova (PDM) and the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament. In this respect, Head of Parliament and chairman of the PDM Marian Lupu signed in Brussels a cooperation agreement between the two organizations, which envisions joining efforts in support of Moldova’s aspirations for European integration, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué issued by the legislature, the cooperation agreement stipulates that the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats will promote the motions, resolutions and statements supporting Moldova’s European integration aspirations in the European Parliament and will assist the PDM in promoting the European integration and the Social-Democratic values.
In order to achieve the set objectives, the signatories of the agreement decided to establish direct and regular contacts between the administrations of the two sides, to organize visits and regular meetings and seminars or other activities both in the European Parliament and in Moldova.
The President of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament Hannes Swoboda said that Moldova is a European state and the political group that he represents, which is the second largest in the European Parliament, will actively cooperate with the Democratic Party in promoting Moldova’s European integration efforts.
In the same connection, Marian Lupu said that the signing of such an agreement is a novelty in the Moldovan politics, while the cooperation between the PDM and the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament will support the European integration efforts of Moldova and Moldovans’ aspirations for a better life.
