On the 33rd anniversary of the 1992 armed conflict, veterans, officials and residents of Balti paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives to defend the independence and sovereignty of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.

The March of Remembrance, organized by the Union of Independence War Veterans, brought together participants from all over the country. The event involved the secretary of state of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Alexandru Bejan.

According to the authorities, the march was an opportunity to reaffirm respect for those who fought for the country and to emphasize the importance of preserving peace and stability, in the context of the European path of the Republic of Moldova.

In recognition of heroes' sacrifice, employees of the Ministry of Interior during the day participated in the sports competition "Heroes' Cup", which is at its seventeenth edition.
