The manuscript of master Eugen Doga’s play “My Country” with verses by Viorica Kovalski was sold at the charity auction of the Generosity Ball held by the association “Child, Community, Family” (CCF) Moldova under the patronage of soprano Valentina Nafornița, IPN reports.
“This lot was sold for €10,000 to Mister Victor Bostan, CEO of the Purcari Wines Group. We were honored to have master Eugen Doga attending the event. He was applauded by all those present in the hall,” said CCF Moldova.
The pencil used by President Maia Sandu to sign the Republic of Moldova’s application for EU membership was sold for €6,000 at the same auction. The name of the buyer wasn’t made public yet.
“The auction was held as part of the tenth Generosity Ball staged by CCF Moldova together with patron Valentina Nafornița. The auctioned pieces included works of art and not only. Among them was this pencil. The pencil with which Maia Sandu signed the application for membership of the European Union was sold for €6,000,” spokesman for CCF Moldova Dan Melnic stated for Moldova 1 channel.
There were also auctioned other objects, food products and also a trip. The auction proceeds totaling over €41,000 will go to finance an inclusive education program intended for children with special needs, to prevent family abandonment.
“This ball of kindness collected €71,241. This money will help to contribute to the inclusion of children with special needs into their community schools. We offered our patron Valentina Nafornița the trophy of gratitude because she has been the voice of children who are less heard in the Republic of Moldova, since 2012,” noted CCF Moldova.
