Manuals of Soviet intelligence services to be declassified

A number of manuals of the intelligence services of the Soviet period, the KGB and the NKVD, will be declassified, said the Security and Intelligence Service, noting that it sent another 34,203 files to the National Archives Agency, IPN reports.

The Service informed that the files were part of the Fund of Documentary Materials for Filtering and Trophy and of the Fund of Documentary Materials of Persons Subjected to Political Repressions during the totalitarian regime, which passed the rehabilitation procedure at the Prosecutor General’s Office, later being declassified by the Departmental Commission of the SIS.

The manuals of the intelligence services of the Soviet period reveal the techniques and methods of propaganda, disinformation and manipulation used in the past and which the forces hostile to the Republic of Moldova continue to use to divide society, compromise democratic processes and keep our country in the sphere of external influence. Access to this information will allow the public to better understand the current dangers, more effectively resist manipulation attempts and support efforts to strengthen the democracy, independence, territorial integrity and resilience of our citizens, the Security and Intelligence Service underlined.
