The Chisinau City Hall said that multiple thefts of manhole covers were reported on Gavriil Musicescu St in Buiucani district. According to the local authorities, surveillance cameras captured a person stealing a cover and that episode was part of a series of similar thefts committed on the same day, IPN reports.

The municipality noted that these acts of vandalism endanger the safety of pedestrians and drivers. Those holes can cause serious accidents. Furthermore, the city's infrastructure is seriously affected.

The Chisinau City Hall said that the competent authorities will be notified so that they identify and punish the person. It calls on the citizens to provide information that can help elucidate this case and prevent similar situations. The residents of Chisinau are also urged to report any suspicious incident to the authorities.
