Drivers from the Transnistrian region will have to take both the theory and practice exams in order to obtain the national driving license based on the license issued on the left bank of the Nistru and in the municipality of Bender. A relevant provision can be found in a decision drafted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, IPN reports.
Currently, the people who hold a driving license issued on the left bank of the Nistru or in the municipality of Bender can ask to be issued with a national driving license without taking an exam.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the procedure for equaling the licenses is to be modified in the context of the European path of the Republic of Moldova and the internal processes of alignment with EU standards.
