Third-party liability (TPL) insurance, which is a mandatory type of car insurance in Moldova, could become available for purchase directly from insurers, under a bill initiated by PAS lawmakers. It’s expected that the measure will make TPL insurance policies cheaper.
“It’s hard to believe that today this is not legally possible in Moldova. Our initiative will correct this mistake. At the same time, we expect that the initiative will make this service cheaper. At present, the final price paid by consumers contains a share, about 30%, which remains with intermediaries. Consumers must have the right to go directly to the insurance company and purchase this service”, MP Dumitru Alaiba told a press conference.
MP Victor Spinu stated that Moldova must become attractive to its citizens, investors and guests. “We have an obligation to implement the best solutions available on the market, in order to become globally competitive”, he said.
According to him, the national digital agenda contains important actions for the digital transformation of Moldova’s strategic sectors; public services must become more friendly and available to both nationals and foreigners.
