A house in Hancesti town was destroyed in a fire on May 12. The 48-year-old owner of the house was found dead inside a room. Liliana Puscasu, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the fire happened on Mircea cel Batran St in Hancesti. The cause of fire is yet to be established. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, a neighbor related that before the fire the man quarreled with his wife and even tried to suffocate her. The woman escaped from his grip and hid at a neighbor. In only several minutes, the locals sounded the alarm as the house was burning. The neighbor presumed that the man planned the arson beforehand as the house could not catch fire so quickly. The man worked in Russia, while his wife in Italy and they did not get along lately. The two had a son aged 16 and an older daughter. They weren’t at home when the fire started. According to firefighters, the four fires that occurred in Moldova yesterday and last night resulted in one death.
