A 39-year-old man was sentenced to five years in semi-closed prison for raping a minor girl. Initially, the court gave him a suspended sentence, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, it happened in March 2023. The defendant, after taking drugs together with the 14-year-old girl in a forest, had forced sexual intercourse with her in his car. In July 2023, the man was sentenced to five years in prison with four years’ probation. Following an appeal filed by prosecutors last November, the Court of Appeals ordered that the sentence be quashed and the case be retried by the same court.

According to prosecutors, the defendant admitted his guilt. Recently, the trial court gave him a real jail term.
