Man who died in deltaplane accident in Galati border area not yet identified
The body of the man who died in a deltaplane accident in the Galati border area is now being examined at the morgue of the county hospital, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Moldovan Foreign Ministry.
Experts are examining the deltaplane to establish the cause of the accident. According to the information provided by the head of the Criminal Investigations Service of the Galati County Inspectorate Stefan Capatan to the Embassy of Moldova in Bucharest, the pilot had no documents on him that would confirm the registration of the deltaplane in Moldova.
The only proof that the man may be a citizen of Moldova is a 10 bani coin that was found in the victim’s pocket. According to Stefan Capatan, the flying vehicle entered the airspace illegally, while the person who was in the deltaplane died after falling from a height of about 400 meters. About 20 packets of cigarettes “Plugarul” were found within an area of about 200 meters of the vehicle.
