A man, 22, was arrested on charges of murdering his neighbors, an elderly married couple, after breaking into their house with the intent to rob them. The crime occurred on Thursday in the village of Badiceni, Soroca district.

According to the police, the man was drunk when he broke in. He raped the 82-year-old woman before suffocating her and her husband, 85, to death with a pillow. He didn't find any money and left with nothing.

The suspect was previously sentenced to 5 years' probation for inflicting bodily harm.
