Man suspected of murdering 4 held by police
The police has arrested a 24-year-old man, suspected of murdering four people, including a 4-year-old girl, and of injuring a 70-year-old man, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Interior Ministry, the murder was committed three years ago. On July 10, 2005, in an apartment in Chisinau, the bodies of mistress of the house, aged 65, of two girls aged 23 and 20, and of a 4-year-old girl were found. The corpses had clear signs of violent death: they were stabbed. A man aged 70 was found injured in the same apartment.
After being searched internationally, the Russian police found the suspect in Barnaul city in September 2007. He had fake ID papers when held up. The Russian police is also searching him for forging documents.
A Russian court decided to extradite the suspect to the Moldovan authorities. If found guilty he may stay in jail the next 25 years or all his life.
