Man shot in Râșcan was part of a criminal group, GPI

The police are examining the version of settling of accounts in the case of the murder committed in Râșcani district of the capital city, namely settling of scores between criminal groups or intentional liquidation of the victim in order to prevent this from making statements in a case. According to the General Police Inspectorate, the 41-year-old man who was killed is of Turkish origin and was part of a criminal group, IPN reports.

The Inspectorate noted that the shot man was announced wanted through Interpol channels by the British law enforcement authorities for the purpose of arrest and extradition. He was accused of committing smuggling crimes and selling heroin.

He hadn’t been extradited so far because he applied for asylum. Two years ago, he was denied asylum, but so far there is no final court decision on the case.

Moreover, he was placed under arrest, with subsequent extradition, but was released from custody based on a court decision.

“We urge the citizens to calm down. All the police officers were mobilized to detain the suspect. We ask the drivers to be cooperative and not to be bothered by the checks that are carried out in the capital city and the suburbs,” said the GPI.

The man of Turkish origin was shot dead in broad daylight while he was at a terrace in Râșcani district of the capital city. A man on a scooter, who was masked, shot him for several times. The police published images of the gunman, urging the population to urgently call the 112 Service if they notice him. The people are also urged to avoid contact with him, as he is armed.
