Man risks remaining without legs damaged by extreme cold
A man from Chisinau could become invalid as he runs the risk of having his frostbitten legs amputated.
Anatol Proca, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Emergency Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the 60-year-old man was found on the street by a police patrol, which called the ambulance. He was taken to the Emergency Hospital with frostbite.
An inebriated man aged 46 was rushed to the hospital from Sfantul Ilie St. He had his hands and legs frostbitten and could remain without them.
A 20-year-old woman came to Chisinau with her two children from Valea Colonitei and got her left hand frostbitten. The children were to be hospitalized at the Mother and Child Center.
A man aged 24 called the ambulance as he had pains in his left ear. The doctors established his ear was damaged by the extreme cold.
A 33-year-old woman tried to kill herself with brandy and pills, while a man aged 20 took pills and drank champagne in order to die. Both of them were admitted to Saint Trinity Hospital.
