A 53-year-old man died on Thursday morning in a road accident on Dacia Blvd, near the City Gates. The information was confirmed to IPN by the spokeswoman for the National Center for Prehospital Emergency Medical Assistance Vladislava Ceban. The accident occurred at around 07.00 a.m.

The General Police Inspectorate said that it was preliminarily established that a car went out the wrong way and collided with another car. Following the impact, the driver of the car that entered the counterflow lane died on the spot.

The intervention of teams of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations was required at the scene.

The accident occurred on the way to the capital city and traffic jams formed on the two lanes. The traffic police redirected the vehicles from the intersection close to Metro to the City Gates on one of the opposite direction lanes.
