A man died in a fire that engulfed an apartment located at 50 Dacia Blvd in Chisinau, in a building that is part of the City’s Gates.

Spokeswoman for the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations Liliana Puşcaşu has told IPN that smoke was seen coming out of an apartment situated on the 17th floor. Seven teams of rescuers and firefighters were dispatched to the scene. The body of a man was found inside the apartment.

A person from the balcony of the neighboring apartment was evacuated as this risked being positioned with fumes. The fire was put out in half an hour.
