Man killed in fire started by burning cigarette

A man choked in a fire that started from a burning cigarette which he fell asleep with.The tragedy occurred on October 14, in a household from the Alexeevca village, Ungheni district.
According to the Service for Civil Protection and Exceptional Situations, the man was 57 years old. The linens smouldered, so that the firemen’s intervention was not required, Infor-Prim Neo reports.
On the same day, in the Negresti village, Straseni district, the firemen saved a man from a fire, who was hospitalized with leg burns. It seems that the room from which he was saved, was set on fire. The Straseni Police are investigating.
This year, 1488 fires were reported in Moldova. 122 people, including two kids died.
