A man died and a young man was hospitalized as result of a labor accident produced at the Asphalt Plant of the town Vatra, Chisinau municipality. According to witnesses, the tragedy happened while the men were inflating a truck’s tire. At a sudden, the tire exploded and the rim hit deadly the man aged 42 and seriously injured the young man aged 21. According to the doctor-coordinator of the Emergency Service of the capital, Evelina Rusu, the latter one was hospitalized with cranial-cerebral trauma, mental shock and nose fracture. The senior inspector of the Labor Inspection, Dumitru Stavila, said that for the moment the investigation on this case was not finished yet. It was established that the men have respected the protection requirements, still they over-inflated the tire and as result the screws gave up and the tire exploded. According to Stavila, this is not the only case of labor accidents of this kind, the specialists recommending to those who repair the wheels of truck and tractors to respect all the norms of the labor security. Of those 195 labor accidents registered in 2005, 124 were individual and 9 collective. 47 of them ended tragically, 86 cases with serious injuries and 16 – temporary loss of the labor capacity. 104 accidents happened at private enterprises and 26 - at public ones. 19 women were injured seriously in these accidents and one died, and 113 men, 67 of them - seriously, including a minor, and 46 men died, including a minor.
