The ambulance doctors saved a young man who suffered a respiratory arrest after abusing drugs. Anatol Proca, coordinating doctor of the Chisinau Ambulance Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the man took homemade drugs intravenously. The ambulance was called to the apartment of an acquaintance of the 30-year-old man, located on Criuleni St. Most probably, he went there for a dose of drugs. The ambulance doctors managed to resuscitate him. The man was admitted to Saint Trinity Hospital for detox. A similar case happened on Alecu Russo St on May 30. When the ambulance arrived, the 28-year-old man was unconscious. He came to his senses after he was given an antidote. A 22-year-old female student of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacology took pills in order to kill herself. She was taken to the hospital, where she underwent gastric lavage. A woman aged 31, who also tried to commit suicide by taking pills, was admitted to the same hospital several hours late. During the last 24 hours, the Chisinau ambulance teams responded to 805 calls, dealing with 84 cases of trauma, 71 cases of acute viral infection, ten strokes and three heart attacks.
