A woman aged 81 from Chirca village of Anenii Noi district was hit in the head and robbed of the golden earrings by a 31-year-old man from Tantareni village of the same district. The man entered the elderly woman’s home at midnight. According to the General Police Inspectorate, the man had been five times convicted of theft, intentional causing of bodily injuries and housebreaking, IPN reports.

The man was arrested. When searching him, the police found the receipt from a Chisinau pawnshop where he sold the earrings.

Interrogated by the police, the man admitted his guilt. He faces eight to ten years in jail for robbery.
