A man from Edinet district was sentenced to nine years in prison for committing four offenses, causing damage of about 1 million lei to the victims, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office. According to the Nord Service of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office, in 2008 the culprit together with his wife managed to obtain a mortgage of US$13,000 with a false salary certificate. In 2007 – 2010, the man rented five vehicles from three economic entities and a private individual. After concluding the deal, the man disappeared with the rented property, causing thus damage of almost 1 million lei to the victims. The offender was put on the wanted list in 2009 and was arrested last summer. His wife was held accountable in 2010. The conviction can be appealed to a higher court.
