A 52-year-old man was sentenced to life imprisonment for sexually abusing his 8- and 10-year-old stepdaughters for several months. Furthermore, the man forced the minors to view pornographic content with him, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, between April 2022 and February 2023, while staying at his concubine’s house, the defendant committed nonconsensual sexual offenses against his 10-year-old stepdaughter. He took advantage of the victim’s inability to defend herself due to her young age and coerced her physically and mentally. Also, in September - November 2022, he lured the minor into the forest, under the pretext for collecting leaves for floristic compositions, but there, again, he sexually abused her. During the same period, the defendant also sexually abused the victim’s younger sister.

The man will serve life in a closed jail. The court also ordered him to pay 1 million lei in respect of non-pecuniary damage to the representative of the minors.

The defendant pleaded not guilty.
