A 61-year-old man got his leg broken when a car struck him. The accident happened on Calea Iesilor St in Chisinau on March 8. The driver did not notice the men when he pulled the car backward. Anatol Proca, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the injured man was taken to the Emergency Hospital with a femur fracture. The same day, a woman aged 78 called the ambulance as she had pains in the chest. She told the doctors that several days ago she fell in a minibus when the driver stopped suddenly. X-ray photographs showed she had several ribs broken Tudor Capatana, of the Traffic Police Department, said only one traffic accident with one person injured was reported on March 8, as against six accidents with nine persons hurt, four of whom children, on March 6. The 269 road accidents that happened in Moldova this year resulted in 39 deaths and 383 persons injured.
