A man aged 38 from a settlement situated in central Moldova was sentenced to 17 years in jail and chemical castration for raping his minor daughter during over five years, IPN has learned from the Prosecutor General’s Office.

According to the prosecutors, the victim lived with her father and younger brother. The girl told what happened to a female friend of her father. The prosecutors consider that the punishment is too mild and intend to challenge the sentence.

The first chemical castration sentence in Moldova was given to a 50-year-old man who raped his daughter aged eight. The chemical castration is performed two months before the release from prison.
