The Buiucani Court sentenced a 37-year-old man from the municipality of Chisinau to 14 years in jail for use of violence that led to his mother’s death, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, the man for two times violated  the restraining order by which he was obliged to leave the house in Botanica district that he shared with his mother and to exclude any contact with her for a period of three months.

In the evening of December 30, 2021, he came again to his mother’s home and punched her with his fist and with a fork. The woman received treatment at the Emergency Medicine Institute for three months, being in a serious state, but ultimately died.

The sentence can be challenged in the Chisinau Apples Court within 15 days.
