A 37-year-old man was sentenced to 14 years in jail for raping a 9-year-old girl in February 2020, IPN reports. According to a press release of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the minor is the daughter of his relatives whom he visited on the day the crime was committed. They purportedly consumed alcoholic beverages and then the man had sexual intercourse with the girl.

The suspect, who was at large all this time, was put on the wanted list. The Prosecutor General’s Office said that he is to be detained and placed in preventive detention. The court gave him a jail term of 14 years in a closed prison. The defendant did not admit his guilt, and the sentence can be appealed.
