A man aged 34 from central Moldova was sentenced to 16 years behind bars for rape and perverse actions. He was convicted for raping the 10-year-old sister of his wife, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in August 2017 the offender repeatedly committed acts of a sexual character against the girl at his domicile, at night. In the same period, being under the influence of alcohol, he forced the girl to have sex with him.

The sentence is not yet definitive and can be challenged in the Chisinau Appeals Court within 15 days.
