A 42-year-old man was sentenced to 13 years and four months in jail for sexual actions taken against a girl aged 11 in the yard of an apartment building the day he was freed from penitentiary for offenses committed earlier, IPN reports.

According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, being under the influence of alcohol and profiting from the girl’s inability to defend herself, the man committed sexual actions against the minor by using physical and mental constraints. It happened in a town in central Moldova in the evening of December 21, 2022.

The man admitted his guilt. The case was examined according to a simplified procedure. The sentence is not definitive and can be challenged in the Appeals Court within 15 days.
