The man from Telenesti district who killed his child with a pot stick last summer was sentenced to 15 years in jail. The prosecution considers the sentence is too mild and filed an appeal, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in June 2016 the offender, being under the influence of alcohol, hit his 15-year-old boy with a stirring stick for several times, causing him serious bodily injuries as a result of which he died. Later, out of jealousy, the man also hit his ex-wife. The 49-year-old man divorced his wife, but lived together with her and their minor son.
The man got 15 years in a closed-type prison for domestic violence that resulted in the victim’s death. The prosecutors demand that the man should be actually tried for intentional murder and should be given 19 years behind bars.
