A 35-year-old man was hit mortally by a train running on the Etulia-Basarabeasca route. The accident happened in Taraclia on Thursday evening.
“The engine driver noticed an obstacle, the person, on the roadway. He triggered the warning signal and braked to stop the train, but didn’t manage to,” Cristina Ciobanu, press officer of the Taraclia Police Inspectorate, has told IPN.
The man died on the spot. Several days ago, a 17-year-old girl was struck fatally by a train in Florești. When she was crossing the roadway, she had the earphones on.
