A man aged 62 from Voinova village of Straseni district died when he fell into a well that he was cleaning together with villagers on June 28.
Press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Liliana Puscasu has told IPN that the man carried out cleaning works together with another six villagers. At a certain moment, he fell from a height of about 4 meters. He was taken out from the well by villagers. He said that he didn’t need medical care, but fell ill when he went home and called an ambulance. He died shortly in the hospital.
Rescuers warn about the danger of such works and recommend using the services of specialists so as not to endanger one’s life.
Last weekend, three men aged 32, 35 and 46 from Chiperceni village of Orhei district died when they were cleaning a local well. They were poisoned by toxic gas that accumulated from the motor pump used to clean the well.
