A man from Lapusna village of Hancesti district got nine years behind bars for swindle in considerable amounts. The judgment was passed by the Centru court of Chisinau municipality, IPN reports.
In 2009, working as the manager of a company specialized in the sale and purchase of cow skins, he asked and received from a person over 1 million lei in installments for allegedly running a common business. The man was brought to justice after seven years of the opening of the investigation. In the period he was wanted. This was arrested in Spain and extradited to Moldova last year, the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases has said.
The court also obliged the man to pay 10,000 lei in respect of non-pecuniary damage and to repair the damage caused to the injured party. The man will also have to pay 25,000 lei to the state, which is the extradition costs.
The sentence can be appealed to the Chisinau Court of Appeals.
