A 56-year-old man was found dead in his house in Ciorescu commune of Chisinau municipality. The police said they arrested a suspect who confessed to murdering the man. The victim and the aggressor aged 43 had a drinking bout together.

Press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati has told IPN that the Râșcani Police Inspectorate was alerted by a neighbor of the victim who found the body on March 31. The man lived alone. The medical examiner found injuries on his body.

Deliberate murder carries a penalty of 10 to 15 years in jail or, in aggravating conditions, 15 to 20 years behind bars or life detention.
