Man from Chisinau faces up to two years in jail for bomb hoax

A man aged 38 from Chisinau could be jailed for at most two years for bomb hoax. He admitted his guilt, saying he was drunk when he made the call to the 112 Service, IPN reports.

Last night, shortly after midnight, the man called the 112 Service and said that an explosive device was planted in the basement of an apartment building situated on Maria Drăgan St. The responsible services searched the place, but didn’t find any explosives there. Criminal proceedings were instituted.

The police identified the culprit. The man was earlier convicted of theft and trafficking in drugs. He faces a fine of 27,500 to 42,500 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or up to two years in jail for bomb hoax.
