A 59-year-old inhabitant of Căușeni is investigated for illegal possession, holding and sale of munitions and explosives. In the man’s home, there were found munitions and explosive devices held without authorization, including over half a kilogram of TNT, IPN reports.

The Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases said the man was identified after he published an announcement on a specialized website, offering 200 grams of TNT, cartridges and other devices for sale.

As a result of searches at the man’s home, the police found and seized cartridges, a recipient with a substance looking like gunpowder and over half a kilogram of TNT.

The man faces a fine of at least 47,000 lei, community service and three to five years behind bars.
