A man aged 57 died when the ceiling of his house fell over him. His wife discovered him under the debris when she returned home from work and found a part of their house ruined. It happened in Bender town, IPN reports.

The facto ministry of the interior of the Transnistrian region said the family bought the lot of land recently and decided to reconstruct the old house situated on it. They gradually took away one of the walls of the house and the floor.

It is presumed that the man was performing works when he ceiling weighing about 1 tonne collapsed over him. Rescuers took the body out of the debris.

The tragedy happened one day after the tragic incident in Stăuceni, where a 22-year-old man was crushed to death by a pile of land that fell over him during excavation works.
