Man falls asleep on railway and wakes up with train above him

A drunken man aged 66 fell asleep on the railway and woke up with the train above him. Eufalia Negreata, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Emergency Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that on July 14 at about 20.00, the engineer of the Saint Petersburg – Chisinau train noticed a man on the railroad near Visterniceni Train Station. He stopped the train and saw the man continuing to sleep under one of the first carriages. The man was fortunate as he did not lie on the rails but along them. Most probably, he suffered cranial-cerebral trauma and concussion. The man could not tell his name. He was taken to the Emergency Hospital for examination. A 66-year-old woman got drowned in Lake Ghidighici. The accident happened on July 14 at about 12.00. Another woman aged 63, native of Tohatin village in the municipality of Chisinau, injured herself with the scythe in the abdomen. She was admitted to the Emergency Hospital. A drunken man of 45 was driving a motorcycle in Ghidighici village, the Chisinau municipality, and overturned in front of the mayor’s office. He suffered cranial-cerebral trauma, contusion, concussion and contused wound in the parietal region. A 21-year-old man driving a motor bicycle in Stauceni village, the municipality of Chisinau, made a wrong move and overturned, suffering cranial-cerebral trauma, concussion and fracture of the clavicle. At about 24.00 on Teilor Street in Chisinau, a taxi driver hit a cyclist aged 16. The boy was taken to Valentin Ignatenco Hospital with cranial-cerebral trauma and mental shock. On Monday, the Emergency Service received 800 calls, dealing with 70 cases of trauma, 3 brain strokes, 9 acute coronal syndromes, one case of sunstroke, 92 cases of viral infections, including 9 cases of alleged meningitis in children.
