Man faces six years in prison for traffic of influence
A young man was arrested by the police for swindling €250 out of a person. He claimed he had influence over employees of the customs post “Palanca” and can help that person cross the border without paying customs duties, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Anticorruption Center.
The man was arrested in front of a shopping center located on Dacia Blvd. in Chisinau on January 4. He yielded the five €50 bills marked ‘bribe’ up to the anticorruption officers voluntarily.
The young man is liable to a fine of up to 60 000 lei or two to six years in jail for traffic of influence.
