Man dies of flu in Chisinau

A 56-year-old man from Chisinau died from A H1N1 flu at Saint Trinity Hospital. He developed bilateral pneumonia and did not survive, the hospital's head Simion Terente has told Info-Prim Neo. The chief doctor said the man got infected on January 30. He saw the family doctor one day later and was hospitalized in a serious condition only on February 4. According to the Ministry of Health, three persons died of flu so far this year. They have not been vaccinated against influenza. The first case of death was recorded on January 18. As many as 170 cases of type A and type B flu have been confirmed in Moldova by February 10, including 91 cases in children and 79 cases in adults.
