Twenty persons were evacuated by firefighters from an apartment building situated in Căușeni town as a result of a fire. A man was taken out of his apartment that was engulfed by flames in an unconscious state. Doctors’ efforts to resuscitate him failed, IPN reports.

The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations said the fire started on Tuesday morning, at about 5:30am. Two firefighting teams were dispatched to the scene when someone reported smoke coming out of the apartment. It was later established that the fridge in the apartment caught fire.

The dwellers from the same stair of the five-story building were evacuated due to the dense smoke.

The fire was put out in over an hour. The evacuated persons weren’t hurt.
