Man dies from electric shock at building site
A man, 31, was electrocuted after touching a live wire at a Chisinau building site. When the ambulance crew arrived the workman was past help, a spokesperson for the Emergency Service said.
The parents of a 15-year-old girl reported to the police that their daughter had been assaulted by a neighbor. The police called an ambulance, which drove the victim to the hospital. Doctors diagnosed her with brain concussion, abdominal injuries, contusion of the internal organs, of the right arm and thigh.
Two nameless women, both aged 30, were found in alcoholic coma at an interval of less than an hour. One was lying on Cuza Voda Blvd, while the other one on Moscovei Blvd. Both were admitted to the Holy Trinity Hospital.
Careless driving was to blame for an accident which hurt a female passenger and damaged two vehicles on Monday. The accident occurred in the intersection of Stefan cel Mare Blvd and Pushkin Street, when an IVECO truck, driven by a 25-year-old, struck an Opel Astra in the rear, causing the front passenger in the Opel, a 32-year-old woman, to hit her head against the windshield. The woman ended up with brain concussion.
A drunk man, 60, was struck by a car while jaywalking near the Botanical Garden. The man was hospitalized for head injury treatment.
On Monday and Tuesday early morning, the Chisinau Emergency Service responded to 749 calls, including 86 cases of trauma. During the same period, traffic officers fined a record number of 26 persons for drunk driving, the daily average being 12, and unscrewed 8 pair of plates for the failure of the drivers to remove the tint from the front and front-side windows.
