A man was killed and another one was seriously injured when a grenade exploded in an apartment in Tiraspol town of the Transnistrian region, IPN reports.
The local press reported that the man who died was most probably the owner of the apartment. The other man who was hurt in the blast was taken to the hospital. The Transnistrian authorities initially presumed it was a gas explosion, but the version wasn’t confirmed.
The explosion occurred in an apartment situated on the third floor of a five-story building. There was no fire. To enter the closed apartment, rescuers used a sliding ladder. When they got into, they opened the door to doctors.
The dwellers of the block were evacuated and the supply of natural gas was temporarily stopped.
